There is an especially warm moment in the duet “Off to Massachusetts” between Ella Schnoor as Beth and Ian Lane as Mr. Lawrence as the latter’s stern character softens and shy Beth comes out of her shell.

Beth (Ella Schnoor) is quiet and shy, and her friendship with their grumpy neighbor, Mr. Laurence (Ian Lane), over their shared love of music is a sweet element with their number “Off to Massachusetts.”

The vocals and performances are all top-tier, though my favorite numbers for vocals are “Here Alone” (Grey Garrett as Marmee) and “Some Things Are Meant to Be” with Jo and Beth.

"Schnoor also shines as the innocent but eagerly love-struck Liesl when she shares her duet with the delivery boy Rolf during one of the standout songs, “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” where the duo handles additional choreography by Wood with grace."

"The von Trapp children are a revelation—adorable, yes, but more importantly, they act with depth and maturity beyond their years. When Maria leaves them, you feel their pain. When they sing, they own the stage."

That’s the magic of this production: it doesn’t just entertain; it lingers, reminding you why this musical is beloved across generations."
